Making a Prediction (Hypothesis)
Making a prediction
After you develop your question, you will need to predict the answer to your question. This is known as your HYPOTHESIS. This should not be a guess, but should stem from your prior knowledge, observations, or research. You must include a REASON for your predicition.
Example:
Question: Does soaking bean seeds before planting affect how fast they will grow?
Possible Predictions:
I think that bean plants that have their seeds soaked before planting will grow faster because soaking will make the hard seed covering soft and easier for the plant to sprout.
OR
I think that soaking the beans will NOT make the bean plant grow faster because soaking will just make them mushy and they may rot before they sprout.
